MONEY MATTERS: SMALL STEPS TO 'SECURING THE BAG'

"I am chilling on the throne, I am an old man in a young body," were the lyrics a popular Nigerian musician lent to our approving nods and dancing feet a couple of years ago. Little did I know that I 'd have to make reference to him at a point in time.  If you are a young person and you are at a loss on how to get your 'money game' rolling in this era then you are a young man in an old body. 'Man' here does not literally refer to the male gender. It points out to both genders. Technology came with communication, social media, a spin around our not-so-great photography game but it came with Fintech too which is an innovative use of technology in the design and delivery of financial services and products. The application of fintech cuts across multiple business segments, including lending, advice, investment management and payments.     Fintech is actually fast being chased by her brother TechFin. What are all these jargons that I am even talkin

LET'S GO ON A VOYAGE: SUBMARINE OR SHIP?

I have spent a better part of my time lately around water bodies. I would sit ashore and watch the peaceful body of water laze around and wonder what the guys who travel by sea or rivers do? Could this be me yearning to be sailor? Absolutely not. This mind wandering activity only led my heart to our business sphere. I have a deep respect for brands who put in the work and serve their clients, followers and customers satisfaction.  Being an active social media user, I have seen the wonders of what the use of social media can do to businesses but where I get usually worried is when brands put in little or no work and blow trumpets on social media. It is laughable.  This thought drifted my mind to the boats and submarines. The ship in all its glory is large and visible but the submarine is not as large as some ships and is almost invisible.  The submarine, a  naval vessel that is capable of propelling itself beneath the water as well as on the water’s surface with a unique cap

GIVING IS NOT AN ENGLISH WORD

Don't you dare doubt me! I use a more updated version of the e-dictionary and revised edition of the dictionary you have. Giving is not an English word. It is a supernatural word. Giving? I know you don't think of yourself as Santa Claus but 'giving 'can be doing a lot more than your favourite apples. Giving is a fun way to build your fulfilment, to partake in the blessing of making a person or cause better. Giving is contagious; it sparks up a 'viral infection' that makes other people who benefitted from your benevolence to give a helping hand to someone else too. “The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving.” — Albert Einstein This act promotes cooperation, social connection, divine love, contentment, fulfilment, personal happiness and makes you incredibly healthy. Dopamine, Serotonin and Oxytocin make up the trio of the 'Happiness' hormonal trigger. Any activity that increases the produc

WHY I WON'T BE BUYING ANYTHING AGAIN FOR A LIFETIME

Heads up, people!  Walking into a shop to purchase an item does not look appealing to me anymore. This is one of my decisions for the new year being that if something is not worth it then there is no point buying it especially trying to impress another fellow.  I have chosen to stick to buying experiences rather 'things.' One of my observation is that experiences cannot be stolen or compromised. They stick like your gum sap sticks to a tree.  So maybe before you buy that expensive Emporio Armani wristwatch or Jimmy Choo shoes, it might be imperative to checkmate if there are experiences that same amout can buy you. Don't get me wrong, it is as clear as crystal that you need to shop for clothings, food, phones or luxury from time to time but bear in mind that your happiness can't be tied to any item. That vibe you get is nothing but a fleeting one .  “One of the enemies of   happiness  is adaptation,”  Thomas  Gilovich reveals. “We buy things to make us happy

WE SHOULD ALL BE MINERS

This is a new year and I am in a good mood to give you diamond, gold, silver or even platinum. Just mention your preferred choice! If you took the words you read now to heart. That makes you a bigger joker than I am.  The honest truth is that the most satisfying gift you could ever have is one given to you by YOU. Whatsoever, you desire is waiting for you to take action to make it happen? What are you willing to do to make it a reality? How bad do you want it? How long do you want to sit and watch like a lonely puppy and hoping a bright light will shine through? I have got news for you. There is no bright light coming to you. That bright is YOU Confucius is quoted to have whispered, "A ll good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get.”  He was not far from the truth. Those fine metals hanging on your neck, sitting comfortably on your earlobe, caressing your ring or perhaps your middle finger didn't just find its way to the jewelry sh
