SHOT ON TARGET: FISAYO ENJOYS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, FOOTBALL AND PHOTOGRAPHY

I watched Fisayo click away on his camera between flashes of light. It was at an event about promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).

I checked some boxes after our interaction. He is industrious, a supporter of social good and very efficient. Call me a stalker of amazing young people and you won't be far from the truth.

Olufisayo Giwa popularly known as African Jaguar and Shot On Target is currently an elite footballer at The Future Academy in Lagos and also a photographer. He is the Creative Director and creative mind behind Shot On Target Pictures.  He practically takes shots on the field and off the field as a photographer.

He identifies as an ardent lover of God with a knack for providing solutions and creating a support system towards developing our country, Nigeria.

"As a kid, one of my favourite toys was a round plastic ball, I grew up having passion for football,.I played it everywhere and was nicknamed after football legend 'Jay-Jay Okocha' for my skills. I chose football because it's my passion and it gives me Joy,' he lets me into his world amidst smiles.

"Photography is another passion that enables my love for creativity, storytelling, documentation of events and the opportunity to express myself. So, it's no surprise that I took to it like a fish would to water," he continues.

His biggest motivation lies in God and his mother.

"God is priority towards achieving success. I am from a polygamous family, regardless of the troubles that come with it, my mother gave everything to nurture, protect and provide me quality education despite the challenges faced," he revealed.

Owing to the quest of young people wanting to make it big and quick.

He says "It's important that we as young people work hard, be disciplined, focused, practice every now and then. In order to develop, pick a mentor who is doing what you like to do and learn from them. I will advise anyone to put God first according to Matthew 6:33 'seek ye first the kingdom of God and it's righteousness and every other thing will be added unto you".

He is quite knowledgeable about the fact that success does not come easy.

"The road is never smooth, there would be times you just want to quit, you just have to take a pause, assess your progress, tell yourself the truth and go hard again, because you can only win if you don't give up."

Fisayo is one young man that loves to be candid. Running a photography business and playing professional football requires time due to long hours of practice.

"My biggest challenges are poor economic conditions that have greatly affected my business in times past, the sudden increase of exchange rates, poor time management Most clients don't keep to contracted time for events, I think its a general thing in Nigeria, it affects productivity and also disrupts planned schedules. Lack of adequate power supply which causes delay in post-production of  digital images is a big one too"

MEET AYOTUNDE SOFELA, THE FEMALE MECHANIC WHOSE HEART BEATS FOR PROPER MAINTENANCE OF CARS

Goldfishes have no hiding place, so I guess this is why Ayo could not find a hiding place either. My first contact with her was on Twitter when I was looking out for women in male-dominated industries. I had an open mind while I was on the lookout but my thought had not given me the clue that I 'd stumble a sweet female Mechanic.  Ayotunde Sofela is a 25-year-old Mechanic from Abeokuta in Ogun state. Born and bred in the boisterous city of  Lagos and a 400 level computer science student at the National Open University (NOUN). She is the dedicated hands behind Ayomatics Garage, a young startup focused on delivering efficient, reliable, and trustworthy automobile repair, maintenance and consultation. "I didn’t always have this passion from childhood. Like most children, I wanted to grow up to be a doctor. I think that was influenced by the fact that I spent my childhood days in the midst of medical practitioners. When I got into a secondary school, that idea chang...

CREATING YOUR CERTAINTY IN A NOT-SO-CERTAIN WORLD

We are all living with the same level of global uncertainty. Certainty is what you create. The degree of certainty that you are experiencing right now is what you have decided to create.  Certainty is not bestowed on you from some external source. TOP SKILLS AMAKA'S YOUNG STARTUP NEEDS TO AVOID 'DISAPPOINTMENT'

Amaka is one of the smartest people I have met. Come to think of it, she was raised in Onitsha, Anambra State and the ever bustling city of Lagos. You can say business sense comes easy to her, having lived in these two cities.  When the year began, she planned to increase her clientele to at least hundred for the year. Lately, she got a  ink that also enables her get quality supply of super stylish clothes.  However, the goal of the year has been dwindling. She has been on an emotional roller coaster on why her business has not  been going as planned. We all know business has it's good days and it's bad days.  But these... has been bad daaaaaaays. Before we attribute anything to fate and the circumstance. One thing is evident, she has not been making efficient use of her resources that will help her nail her goal for the year.  What in Christ heaven's is she going to do? There is a very thick line between wanting and needing a thing. With the ...
