I wish I could tell you that I love the title of this article but I honestly can't. I wear a size 43 and I am a lady. I practically go on a world tour when I am shopping for a shoe.
The sound of the word, bigfoot makes me cringe but I have to do what I got to do.
Stories. I love stories. I remember a myth about how a tiny woman who had gone to steal from a giant's hut could not outrun the giant after one of her stealing escapades because each stride of the giant was five times her's. Hilarious, I know.
Sometimes you need big feet to keep you five times ahead of your competition. Business and career are pedals we keep kicking till we are frail. So, it's important to always be the bigfoot in the game.
How do you stay ahead and make this happen?
Don't keep your eyes on the present
The present is an illusion. The future is brighter than you can ever imagine or have ever been told. There is always room for expansion. So while you make your decisions, ensure that you keep the future in mind.
Customer or Followers - focused
It is easy for every business to tell you they care about their customers, client or even followers. The truth is along the way, that grip is lost. They keep groping in the dark fighting their competition. Tailoring your decisions to your customers or clients and putting them on your drawing table always will help you create ideas, products, services and engagement that your customers, clients or followers will hold dear to their hearts.
Take risks
Risk? Sounds scary, I know. But if you don't try, how will you ever know? I love taking risks.
Risk-taking is the act of sacrificing your personal emotions, energy, time or money to help you improve your circumstances, or to simply take advantage of opportunities that life presents you with. It’s the act of stretching your comfort zone and capabilities by exposing yourself to uncertainty and possible change.
As much as sometimes you will need to take a calculated risk and this can be disturbing. Don't fail to shoot as many shots as possible.
Every risk taken comes with a basket of sometimes victories, sometimes losses and definitely lots of experience. Guess what? You can't buy experience.
Collaborate
Don't be mute Marcus that sleeps in his mould-infested house on Monday.
Be open to sharing ideas and working on projects with like minds. Even if it doesn't earn you a million dollars, you will be building relationships, networks, having access to unexpected resources and gaining new knowledge.
There is a sprint right behind you and if I were you, I will go set out to be the big feet.
